The University of Utah's Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (RMCOEH) and Department of Mechanical Engineering are pleased to announce the 18th Annual Regional National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Young/New Investigators Symposium to be held on the University of Utah campus on April 16-17, 2020. The goal of this symposium is to assemble interested students (graduate and undergraduate) and young/new investigators from the region, as well as other interested parties, in a forum where NORA-related research (occupational health and safety) can be presented and discussed in a collegial atmosphere.
Financial aid is available (up to $600) to students and presenters for reimbursement of symposium expenses (including the symposium registration fee, travel expenses, and hotel expenses). Financial aid is limited and with the growing popularity of the symposium we have used all available funding the past few years, so please encourage interested students and researchers to register soon! Note that all participants (including presenters) are required to register for the symposium. One-page abstracts (for a podium or poster presentation) should be submitted by March 20, 2020. The abstract template can be found here: https://nora.mech.utah.edu/authors/ At the symposium, podium presenters will have 15 minutes for their presentation including question/answer session (12/3 format). Interested persons are encouraged to contact Dr. Andrew Merryweather a.merryweather@utah.edu with questions about abstracts or presentations and to contact Liz Reiser (liz.reiser@mech.utah.edu) with questions about logistics.
We are excited to continue our new tradition of awarding the Don S. Bloswick - Occupational Health and Safety Workplace Exposure Investigation and Control - "B L O H S W E I C" - award to students for Best Podium and Best Poster presentations.
Thanks,
NORA Organizing Committee
