  • Walking through entropy algorithms: A Nonlinear Analysis Tutorial

    As part of the Human Movement Variability Conference and Great Plains Biomechanics Conference a pre-conference tutorial is being offered. This tutorial has been designed for the inexperienced to experienced entropy user. The fundamentals of sample entropy will be described. Building from these basics, we will begin to discuss several of the modifications to sample entropy. These include permutation entropy, multi-scale entropy, and phase-dependent entropy. Parameter selection will also be discussed. During the course of the tutorial, complexity will be defined and its relationship to the various entropy algorithms will be described. This tutorial includes lecture, discussion, and hands-on activities.
