We would like to invite you to join the LokoAssist Symposium on April 20 and 21, 2023, in Darmstadt, Germany. (Just 5 days left)
LokoAssist (www.lokoassist.de) addresses the interdisciplinary challenge of seamless integration of active locomotion devices (orthoses, exoskeletons, prostheses) into the daily movement experience of the user. LokoAssist is a multidisciplinary Ph.D. Research Training Network granted by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
This LokoAssist Symposium gathers leading scientists in these cutting-edge research areas. It covers a range of closely related topics, from biomechanical modeling and mechatronic design of assistive devices to psychological aspects of locomotion and human and expert evaluation.
Keynote Speakers:
Heike Vallery, TU Delft,
Denys Makarov, Dresden Univ,
Gregory Sawicki, Georgia Tech,
David Remy, Stuttgart Uni,
Jose Gonzalez-Vargas, Ottobock
Ulrich Ebner-Priemer, KIT
Max Jair Ortiz Catalan, Chalmers University of Technology
Marjolein van der Krogt, Amsterdam UMC
The main topics covered in the conference are:
Please register until 6 March 2023. The details for the registration can be found on the registration page. The participation capacity is limited.
Looking forward to seeing you in LokoAssist Symposium
Maziar A. Sharbafi, on behalf of Organization committee

The main topics covered in the conference are:
- Mechatronic design of assistive devices concerning drive concepts, materials, sensors, and actuators and their integration into assistive systems
- Modeling of locomotion including with/without perturbations based on biomechanics and machine learning methods
- Assistance scenarios and their evaluation, including user (e.g., Human-in-the-loop optimization) and expert (e.g., practitioners) feedback
- User perspective and body representation
Please register until 6 March 2023. The details for the registration can be found on the registration page. The participation capacity is limited.
