  • Peak Motus camera problem

    Hi

Recently we had to realize that Peak Motus cannot deal with current camera technology - it seems that it still sticks to old DV and FireWire stuff that is not available any more. We would like to use four Basler cameras with 100 or 200 frames per second with a decent resolution (better than 640x480). We wonder if Motus can deal with frame rates and resolutions other than DV? How can we record the video footage and process it with Motus?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Max.

Motus video export in CONTEMPLAS TEMPLO

    Max,

our motion analysis software TEMPLO offers a special export feature especially for Motus users which allows transferring a set of video files with a single mouse click to Motus - without browsing your folders.

TEMPLO supports a large number of GigE cameras - including Basler - (high-speed and high-resolution) with up to 6 cameras on a PC or 3 cameras on a notebook computer.
It also supports up to 4 HDV (high definition video) cameras with full resolution (1920x1080).

Read more about Video recording for Motus on www.comtemplas.com

Please feel free to contact us.

    All the best,

    Thomas.

Re: Motus video export in CONTEMPLAS TEMPLO

      Thanks, Thomas, this sounds great.

We are planning to acquire a lot of movements for a big project.
How long will it take to export a set of 4 high-speed video clips (synchronized cameras from various perspectives) from CONTEMPLAS to Motus?
How much user activity is needed for this process?

      Cheers,

      Max.

Re: Motus video export in CONTEMPLAS TEMPLO

        Max,

I am not sure what time you are asking for.

The AVI files will be available some seconds after pressing the "Stop" button during video recording.
You can then export the video footage with only two mouse clicks - but you can also proceed with more recordings as everything will be written to a database to be selected later, e.g. when you return to your lab.

After this very short export process you would launch Motus which will open with the set of video clips already assigned to the user-defined 'template'.

With a bit of practice the whole transfer should be possible within 10 seconds after the end of the movement.

Please feel free to contact me with personal email if you have further questions.

        Regards,

        Thomas.
