I'm currently the director of the Motion Analysis Center at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Center. We are a very well-equipped clinical lab that has been dedicated to gait analysis in patient populations, largely pediatric, since opening in 1995. I would like to make some connections with other labs who are working with runners, golfers and baseball pitchers -- we are interested in diversifying and are exploring a number of options.
I realize that in our shift into new services there will be some need for expertise, obviously -- but what else do we need to consider? Some specific questions:
1. If your lab works with participants in these sports, are they in a performance improvement capacity? Or an injury prevention/rehab capacity?
2. If you are working with runners, do you have/use an instrumented treadmill or is the lab large enough for overground running? Can you share something of your testing protocol, and describe your product or final report?
Thank you in advance for your time.
