  • Interface pressure

    Dear colleagues,

I need to measure the interface pressure of the prosthetic socket. We are using F-scan system. I wonder if it is possible to get synchronized data from one in-shoe pressure sensor and one socket sensor. I thought of using force plate to know each pressure point corresponds to which phase of gait; however, our force plates can not be synchronized with the F-scan system.

I would be very grateful if you could share your experiences and suggestions.

    With sincere regards,

    Re: Interface pressure

    Arezoo,

Just to clarify, are you looking for a sensor to place within the socket (I assume the F-scan will be in the shoe) or a way to synchronize the sensors that you already have?

    Thanks,

    Todd

      Hi Arezoo,

Send me an e-mail at nmurphy@tekscan.com and will follow-up with you on synchronization between sensor and with force-plate. We could also Skype to address via voice, and avoid lenghty e-mails.

        Re: Interface pressure

        Dear Arezoo,
You can take Analog outputs (amplified) from your Force Plate and your other sensors into a Data Acquisition System like National Instruments or Measurement Computing. GRF computation can be done by applying Force Platforms calibration matrix for Force Plate's converted digital signals. This ofcourse is an alternative if you Force Platform's DAQ unit does not have synch-in or out capability.

Dear Todd. Thanks for the reply. I was looking for synchronization.
Thank you so much dear Dr. Murphy for the kind help and instructions.
Dear Mavendra Singh I appreciate your reply. I should try the sensor synchronization.

            Hi
            Dear Arezoo,
We had such problem before and we noticed that we can't synchoronize as we do not have sync box.
So it depends on what instrument you already have in your lab. If you have synchoronization box, you can easily syn both inshoe and sensor and gather data.
If you do not have that hardware, By means of software, I think you can sync data both it would not be so precise.
Good luck with your expriments :-)

              Dear All,

Thank you so much for the kind assistance. Special thanks to Dr. Norman Murphy and Patrick Crowe for the detailed, helpful instructions. I could successfully use one F-socket and one insole sensor.

Thank you dear Zahra and good luck to you too.

              Best regards,
