  • Hybrid III Sample Data Request

    Greetings Biomch-L!

    Would anyone have a sample data acquisition they could send me (.csv or .mat) of any collision to a 50th-Hybrid III headform using the Denton/ATD positioning of the 3-2-2-2 accelerometer array? I wrote a matlab function to calculate angular acceleration and velocity (see references below) and I wanted to verify it with another group’s input/outputs.

    I found what I needed through the NHTSA Biomechanics Test database. http://www.nhtsa.gov/Research/Databases+and+Software

    I managed to find several crash tests that contained both the raw acceleration channels from the 3-2-2-2 array and the corresponding calculated rotational accelerations. The data were available in Ascii format so it was simple to import into matlab. Success!
