The Request for Proposals (RFP 111012 and RFP 111013) solicit applications to act as the Chief Scientist and Principal Investigator of two new initiatives to develop Evidence-Based Statements of Best Practice Standards in two key areas of Orthotics and Prosthetics as outlined in the RFPs. Key tasks will include conducting a systematic review of the literature and establishing assessment and treatment pathways that relate to defined episodes of care. This is a solicitation for open submissions to the attached RFPs. Academic Institutions with experienced and qualified personnel with a demonstrated interest in the topic are encouraged to apply. AOPA’s ideal funding amount is $50,000. Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals by the posted deadline of December 20, 2012 for an amount they deem necessary that is commensurate with the work and is supported by both proposal and budget. Applications will be assessed based on demonstrated scientific background and facility with the above topic and the appropriateness of the personnel and environment.
