I'm looking to collect and analyze kinematic data on a task that will allow me to learn as much about the capabilities of Peak/Vicon Motus 9 as possible. The task must be analyzed in 2D, as I do not have access to 3D motion analysis. Any suggestions on a task that will serve as a good learning tool to Peak/Vicon Motus 9?

Hi Mark,
which and how many cameras do you have (2D analysis with more than one camera is called Multi-2D in Motus)? Do you also collect any analog data?

Re: Learning about Peak/Vicon Motus 9
Hi Mark,
A simple sagittal view walking or jumping trial will suffice. If you have the Motus 9 installer DVD (accessible from the Vicon | Support site at www.vicon.com) you can import our sample data which includes 2D jogging and walking trials. These basic trials will allow you to track points using manual, automatic and pattern tracking modes. Raw coordinate data can be scaled and processed using a variety of filtering routines. You can set up simple or custom joint angles, calculate velocities and accelerations and create reports. The comprehensive help system and pdf user guide can assist you with all the procedures.
I hope this information is helpful.
Best regards,
John
