  • synchronize video files using Peak Motus

    Hello everyone,
I was trying to synchronize two video files (30 frame/second) using Peak Motus. The Peak Motus read the video files field by field (60 field/second). So the problem is: no matter how I crop and sync video files, there is always one field off between the two videos. Any ideas about synchronization in Peak Motus? Thanks a lot.

    Hi Yumeng Li

I dont work with Peak Motus however if you get 30 fps this should mean that you will get 60 frames in one second. So I cant understand how you have one field left. This mean that you are geting 61 fields in one second? Note the two videos were encoded with the same codec?

Re: synchronize video files using Peak Motus

      Dear Yumeng Li

The problem is that the video file contains 30 fps and the "deinterlacing" (getting two distinct images out ouf one) is done during runtime.
If you crop the video file you can do that in 30 fps steps only.

The only solution for this is to convert the 30 fps file to an already deinterlaced 60 fps file. You can then crop the the resulting file in 60 fps steps.

In the latest version (Motus 10, www.motus10.com) the recording features have been replaced in order to support latest camera technologies (high-speed, high-resolution, HDV etc.): All recording is now done in CONTEMPLAS TEMPLO and the video files are then transferred to Motus with a single click.
When you are using a DV/HDV camera which requires deinterlacing, then this is done by TEMPLO and the resulting 60 fps file is transferred to Motus.

Please feel free to get in contact with us if you have more questions.

      Regards,

      Thomas.
