  • Bootstrap method - how many trials in one session for a single subject?

    Dear members,
I would like to apply the bootstrap method for evaluating the efficacy of an intervention [footwear] on a biomechanical parameter measured with a force platform, in a case of Charcot-Marie-Tooth foot.
I don’t know if I’ll have in the future more similar cases but I would like to have for this subject objective data regarding my intervention.
My kindly asking is to help me to understand 2 things in order to collect proper experimental data:
    - How to calculate the number of trials per each session [without footwear and with footwear] in order for the data to be properly analyzed,
    - How many bootstraps are necessary for the calculation of confidence and prediction bands
    Thank you in advance,
    Respectfully,
    Daniel

As there is no any reply I’m thinking my question is a stupid one!
But the problem is a real one: having a force platform how can I see if in a special case my intervention has produced a statistically significant modification of a kinetic parameter? If I can’t base my decision on the comfort perceived by the patient how can I correctly evaluate my intervention?
    Thanks for your kindness!
    Daniel
