The New England Pediatric Device Consortium (NEPDC) is currently accepting applications for resources that will accelerate development of pediatric medical devices.
NEPDC is a non-profit foundation supported by the FDA’s Office of Orphan Products Development. Available Seed Awards provide initial development funding and access to an extensive network of clinicians, researchers, technologists, and business development specialists located at institutions throughout New England. Applications describing disruptive technologies as well as incremental technology improvements are welcome, as are pediatric technologies that may have limited market size but high potential for improving the life of a child.
Eligibility requirements for Seed Awards include:
Applicants are welcome to submit concepts and solutions across the commercialization spectrum, from raw ideas to near-to-market devices; however, funding preference will be given to devices that have developed past the concept stage of design. - The technology / device must addresses a clear pediatric need
- The technology / device must meet the FDA’s definition of a medical device
- Technology / devices that have previously received funding from FDA-funded pediatric device consortia are not eligible
- Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are not eligible
