  • Kinematic - Minimal clinically important difference

    Dear all,

I wonder to know how do you calculate the sample size for a research where the primary outcome is the angular kinematics.

I have tried to base myself on the values found in other studies, however, most studies show results with statistical difference but the kinematic variation between groups is very small. This difference in my opinion is not clinically important.

How do I find the minimally clinical important difference for kinematic variables, such as gait, jumping, negotiating stairs? My objectives are to compare difference treatments in the same group of patients, especially in patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome.

    All the best.
