  • Vicon Nexus Wrist Analysis

    Hi

Good day! I am a newbie to vicon nexus system and i got a little confused with the coordinate system (x,y, and z) in vicon. I have been reading up on wrist biomechanics and I realised wrist has only two degree of freedom. However, when I tried out with vicon system, it returns three axes of data (x,y,z). I understand that X returns from flexion/extension and y returns from radial/ulnar deviation. how about z? Does it account for the forearm pronation/supination? Please help! thank you!

    Re: Vicon Nexus Wrist Analysis

In Vicon plugin gait, I believe the elbow is considered to have a single degree of freedom (flexion), and the wrist (z) accounts for the pronation/supination.
E.g. for left wrist, internal rotation along radius z" (clockwise).
