  • Filtering data for the free moment

    Dear Members,
I'm using an AccuGait AMTI force platform to analyze the free moment in walking trials at the preferred walking speed. In only one article [ http://www.asbweb.org/conferences/2007/450.pdf ] it is used a low pass Butterworth filter with a cutoff frequency of 50Hz for kinetics. I've filtered the data of a trial with different cutoff frequencies and, for me, I think it is better to use a frequency of maximum 10 Hz. At 50 Hz the result of filtering doesn't seem to be the right one [see attachment: 6=6Hz, 10=10 Hz, 50=50 Hz]. As the majority of articles which I've read doesn't give any information about filtering parameters I would like to kindly ask your opinion about the optimal Butterworth filtering parameters to be used.

    Respectfully,
    Daniel
