We are happy to announce a new release of the Bonemat software (free download at www.bonemat.org).
Bonemat maps on a Finite Element mesh bone elastic properties derived from Computed Tomography images.
The new Bonemat v3.1 can: (i) import CT images and FE models, (ii) interactively visualise them, (iii) automatically assign material properties through user-defined constitutive equations, and (iv) export the updated FE mesh. A generic matrix-like format and the Ansys ASCII format are currently supported.
Documentation (brief user manual and FAQs), as requested with good reason by many users in the past, is also available. More info on the website.
We encourage you to download Bonemat, use it, report any bugs, tell friends/collegues, and propose improvements!
With kind regards,
Enrico Schileo, for the Bonemat Development Team at Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli (IOR), Bologna, Italy
