  • Physical therapy insights needed for manual wheelchair research

    Dear Colleagues,

I represent a team of researchers at Marquette University investigating the various physical therapy techniques for manual wheelchair users, including equipment used for monitoring, training, and fitting and seating, as well as the daily challenges faced in the physical therapy practice. We would appreciate hearing from physical therapists who could provide us with their expertise and experience in this field. If you are a PT or know someone working in this area, please reply via email.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Tamara,
One area that we have done research is related to pressure mapping in seating. In both our PT and OT programs, graduate students are exposed to this technology to provide insight to aspects of seating and positioning. Even our local hospital uses pressure mapping in certain aspects of clinical practice.

    Sincerely,

    Tom
