  • Vicon Nexus 1.8.5 - Video Transfer

    Hello Biomch-L!

    When performing motion capture with Vicon's Nexus 1.8.5 software, I regularly face the issue that the video data cannot be transferred using the Data Management pane. More precisely, all files appear and can be selected but hitting the "Transfer Files" button does not execute any action.

    Has anyone encountered and solved this issue? Alternatively, does anyone know a way to convert this files from .vvid (Vicon's native format, leading to extremely large files) to another format?

    Thanks in advance!

    Dear Dr. Jenifer Miehlbradt,

    data manager displays a yellow circle with the letter "M" (movie)?
    some problems may generate failure to encode video files:
    - an unsupported video codec for use in Nexus - this is indicated by a red bar instead of green in conversion progress indicator files;
    - other cause is a bug in xml files that store the paths of the captured video files: "LocalMXDVCapturedTrials.xml" and "MasterCapturedTrialsList.xml" (C:\Program Files (x86)\Vicon\Nexus )
    these files can be edited in Windows Notepad or XML Notepad 2007 softwares.

    if the file paths are corrected, the conversion of videos is done by Nexus.
    note: My experience is only in Nexus version 1.5.1
