  • Access to adolescent spine computer models

    Hello:

I'm doing my dissertation on characterization of stiffness along scoliotic spine for teens with AIS. I'm in need of spinal CAD geometry to later convert to a Finite Element mesh. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can download a model of a scoliotic spine, either for free or through a vendor? I appreciate any help you can provide.

This was originally posted under the ISB Tech group forum, but I decided to repost here after noticing far more traffic on this forum.

    Hi,

It's not scoliotic but there are 3D models of vertebrae available in the BodyParts3D database: http://lifesciencedb.jp/bp3d/
They're based on manually segmented and cleaned up MRI data. Might be a good start.

    Hope this helps,
    Will
