Tekscan Student Research Award
The Medicine & Science in Team Sports (MSTS) Awards Committee will select Awardees based on the scientific quality of the submitted abstract as well as the application to team sports. The Awardee must attend the Annual ACSM Meeting to present their work in either poster or podium format. The Awardee must attend and will be given their award at the ACSM MSTS Annual Meeting. The Award consists of a plaque and check for $400.
Eligibility
Current or pending student member of the ACSM at the time of the ACSM Annual Meeting. Students are considered eligible if they have not received their doctoral degree in the year prior to the ACSM Annual Meeting. Students graduating in the May preceding the ACSM Annual Meeting remain eligible for the Student Research Award. The abstract in review for award must have been submitted and accepted for podium or poster presentation at the ACSM Annual Meeting. The abstract must not be under concurrent consideration for the Student Travel Award or for award in another Special Interest Group.

Application Process
Electronic applications must be submitted to the MSTS Chair by May 1. This date is after the applicant has been notified of abstract acceptance for either podium or poster presentation at the ACSM Annual Meeting. Winners must be present at the SIG Meeting (Wednesday, May 31) to accept their award
Application Submission Materials
1. Letter of nomination and endorsement from the Department Chair, Graduate or Undergraduate Advisor (PDF) on official letterhead. This letter should include a statement specifying student contribution and independence in the work being submitted for consideration.
2. A 100-word description of how the research applies to Medicine and Science in Team Sports
3. The original abstract submitted and accepted to the ACSM Annual Meeting. The applicant MUST be first author and the work should be the author’s.
4. Copy of the email correspondence or letter from ACSM verifying that the submitted abstract has been accepted to the ACSM Annual Meeting.
5. Proof of student membership.
