  • Looking for Reference Databases of Kinetic and/or Kinematic Data

    Hello,
I am in the preliminary stages of designing a database for kinetic and kinematic data related to playing-related injuries in musicians. I have been searching for pre-existing databases from which to gather ideas on how to design the structure, make the database user-friendly, etc. I have found one for database of musician data that is quite helpful: https://repovizz.upf.edu/repo/Home I am hoping to find other databases to reference with data from other populations; if you have one you would be able to recommend, I would be most appreciative.

    Hi Katelyn,

A couple of years ago I've published a database with 3D kinematics of the upper limb, called the "Shoulder movements database". You can access it here: https://simtk.org/frs/?group_id=465 (scroll down to the bottom of the page).

The database base contains 3D locations of bony landmarks during various upper limb tasks, as well as joint rotations according to ISB definitions. Maybe you can get some inspiration from the format I chose to present my data in.

    Cheers, Bart
