  • podiatry with biomechanical perspective

    Hello all,

I am recently directing my research toward foot orthosis and I have to deal with different orthosis designs. However, in the world of podiatry there seems to be a lot of different theories which makes it hard to analyse the orthosis with the same view. My problem is now to classify the orthoses based on their design. For example, arch support, medial posting, lateral posting, heel cup, heel lift,.... The problem is that I cannot sometimes detect whether it is heel lift or posting. Could anyone introduce me a good reference (book, article,..) which could help me?

    Thanks.

    Re: podiatry with biomechanical perspective

    Hello,
"Technical topics" on PFOLA website ( http://www.pfola.org/ ) could be a good start. Podiatry Arena ( http://podiatryarena.com/index.php ) is an important source of information for the podiatry field.
    Hope these helps,
    Daniel
