  • Looking for an Isokinetic Device which provides analogue output

    Hi All,

I'm looking for an Isokinetic machine that has analogue outputs to enable custom instrumentation. Could anybody recommend manufacturers or devices.

    Many thanks

    Paul

You might contact Reinhold Ferstl (CEO D&R Ferstl GmbH) at:

    D. & R. Ferstl GmbH
    Gewerbering Ost 26
    93155 Hemau
    reinhold.ferstl@isomed.de

He built the IsoMed2000 dynamometer with standard analogue output of torque and angle. The output usually is unidirectional in a range of 0 to 10 Volts and can easily be synchronized to e.g. EMG recordings. The dynamometer itself is very reliable and widely used in sport performance labs for diagnostic and training purposes.

The Biodex has analog output for the torque, angle, and angular velocity channels. I believe the Cybex system does too.

I have hooked up Biodex systems with our EMG systems for customers for many years to generate synchronized torque, angle, angular velocity and EMG data collection - the interface is very easy to any ADC or data collection system. I believe that many other Isokinetic machine manufacturers also support this type of application.

I'd recommend that you pick the machine that you like, and then consult the manufacturer.

          Hi Paul,
The HUMAC NORM (previously CYBEX NORM) Isokinetic machine has auxiliary analog outputs if you want to interface to other devices such as EMG or E-Stim. www.csmisolutions.com
