  • Call for Papers: Special Issue on “Injury Biomechanics” Research

Safety (ISSN 2313-576X) is an international peer-reviewed open access journal that focuses on research concerning industrial and human health safety, and publishes quarterly by MDPI AG, Basel, Switzerland.

    Special Issue Information
Injury is one of the most under recognized public health problem worldwide, yet most are predictable, preventable and controllable. Acknowledging the need in developing strategies to eliminate or reduce injury severity, Safety will publish a special issue on "Injury Biomechanics" dedicated to identification and definition of injury mechanisms, the quantification of biomechanical responses, the determination of impact tolerance levels, and the development and use of injury assessment devices and techniques for evaluating injury prevention systems. Emphasis is on expanding our knowledge of musculoskeletal biomechanics related to injury prevention and human health.

This special issue calls on authors to submit original research articles, short-communications, as well as review articles with emphasis on applied, experimental, or theoretical research to reach a wide readership. The scope of research will include (but not be limited to) macroscopic motion analysis of human volunteers or surrogates to microscopic measures of cell and tissue function/structure complemented by computational and translational models that extend experimental findings to broad, real-world environments.

    Author Guidelines and Submission Deadline:

Instructions for authors and submission guidelines can be found on the Journal's Instructions for Authors webpage. The submission deadline for full paper submission is September 30th, 2019. The goal is to publish at least ten articles in this special issue.

Prospective authors are to submit an electronic copy of their manuscript online through the journal’s submission website. Denote on the manuscript this is for the special issue and include 'Injury Biomechanics' under the manuscript title.

All manuscripts are refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. The Article Processing Charge (APC) is waived for well-prepared manuscripts submitted to this issue.

For further questions or inquiries contact the editorial assistant at lee.li@mdpi.com, review the Instruction for authors, or please email all special issue-related inquiries to the Guest Editor Dan K Ramsey:
