Hi everyone. My name is Ricardo, I'm a graduate student in the kinesiology department at Humboldt state. I'm new to this Forum. I was wondering if any one had any good references for processing lower extremity EMG data for running. I'm looking for a better understanding of filter frequencies, smoothing of EMG data, and different ways to normalize data.

Hi Riccardo,
Some of the methods we used in the following two papers might be helpful to you.
Li, L., & Caldwell, G. E. (1998). Muscle coordination in cycling: effect of surface incline and posture. Journal of Applied Physiology, 85(3), 927-934.
Baum, B. S., & Li, L. (2003). Lower extremity muscle activities during cycling are influenced by load and frequency. Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology, 13(2), 181-190.
Good luck,
Li
