  • Seeking way to integrate pressure-sensing insole system with other instrumentation

    Hi everyone,
We are planning a new project which is looking to integrate the outputs from pressure-sensing insoles with other bespoke instrumentation into a single system, and hence we are interested in types of pressure sensing insole systems with which that might be possible. Specifically, we wish to bypass the front-end of respective insole software and use an API or similar to allow us to talk to the software to acquire the data from the insoles. Has anyone tried this before, or can recommend an insole company who may be able to support such integration?
    Many thanks,
Sibylle Thies, University of Salford, UK

    Dear Dr. Thies,

I had experience with TekScan (insoles: F-Scan System) and RsScan (platform) a few years ago. Novel company also has instrumented insoles.
Perhaps only Novel has an insole system that allows synchronization with an external system (video cameras): Pedar and pedar/R (Recorder) Software. RsScan has a synchronization device, but it may be exclusive for use with platforms (Biomechanical Research).
I hope this information is useful in your project.
