I teach a graduate class in biomechanics/ergonomics for a human factors graduate program in a psychology department. I’m considering updating my textbook. I’ve been using Chaffin, Anderson, and Martin’s Occupational Biomechanics for the past 8 years. It has a lot of good content at about the right level for my students, but the latest edition was published 15 years ago, and because of the use of illustrations from “classic” studies, the book feels even older than that. I’m also dissatisfied with the lack of recognition of psychosocial factors on pain and injury. If you teach a similar class to a similar population, I’d love to hear what textbook(s) you use.
