Mechanics Teaching Tools
More general mechanics teaching tools:
Effects of Load: http://articlesbyaphysicist.com/effectsofloads.html
In this too, you input axial, perpendicular, and/or shear forces to a 3D bar. The bar then squishes, pulls, or slides accordingly. Useful for showing Poisson's ratio and shear (topics students sometimes struggle to visualize).

Stress Transformations: http://articlesbyaphysicist.com/stre...ormations.html
In this one, you click and drag the yellow cut line on the top bar to create an oblique cut shown in the bottom bar. The normal and shear stresses at the oblique cut are calculated and shown on the bottom bar. Users can input their own forces and cross-sectional areas.

Please leave feedback in the comments if you use this. It'd be very useful to know how the tools impact your teaching and learning. Thank you!You do not have permission to view this gallery.
