  • Data Extraction from AMTI Force Plates via Code

    Hi everyone,

I am a masters student and am having trouble extracting outcome measures from raw force trace data from AMTI in-ground force plates sampled at 2000Hz. There are two types of movements being preformed on the force plates, the first of which being sets of 6 trap bar deadlift repetitions with 3s between each rep. The second type of movement being performed on the plates are trap bar countermovement jumps with sets of 3 reps again separated by 3s. The plates are zeroed with the bar and plates sitting on top so that the force output is just from the body. Does anyone have any previous existing or freely available code I could use to extract key metrics from only the concentric phase for each repetition of each lift. The metrics I am looking for are as follows: mean force, peak force, peak power, time to peak force, rate of force development at 50, 100 and 150ms. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

This is just an original history of Force Plate data collection, I saw the data collected and processed years ago but users being unaware that the data was being filtered, just seeing the good force plate data. But the analog filtering resulted in the recorded force plate data being delayed with analysis thinking that a subject did not apply any force to the plate when the heel arrived on the plate and a subject force only starting to appear once the subject's whole foot was on the plate.
So collecting data is good but verifying it, as accurate sampling and recording, is essential.
