  • Cycling Crank Length

    Hello All,
Following the keynote on crank length I gave at Science and Cycling in Lille, a YouTuber asked me to present the talk with him. I hope its okay to post the link here.
    Cheers,
    Jim

        Hi Jim,
That’s great! We really need solid cycling biomechanics research reaching the people who are directly making changes and adjustments for the athletes! Thanks for sharing!

          Hi,
For those of you who could be interested in modeling cycling biomechanics: In the model repository that ships with the AnyBody Modeling System there is a robust parametric cycling model (https://anyscript.org/ammr/Applicati...BikeModel.html). You can try the different postures of the cyclist, and different parameters of the bicycle (like saddle height, crank length, etc.) and evaluate how these parameters affect muscle usage. We have different outputs, like muscle activity, metabolic power, joint reaction force that can be used in evaluating the efficiency of pedaling.

There is already some publications on this if you browse through our publication list (https://www.anybodytech.com/resource...ypublications/).
