    We are pleased to offer two PhD studentships in understanding neurological and muscle function in cerebral palsy.

    Project 1: How are abnormalities of the brain and spinal cord related to muscle growth, spasticity and functional capacity in children with spastic cerebral palsy?

    In this project, the relationship between the structure of the spinal cord and muscle development in children with spastic cerebral palsy will be investigated using novel MRI imaging techniques.

    In project 2: Muscle-tendon interaction during walking in children with cerebral palsy

    In this project, the student will investigate the relationship between gross muscle morphology and muscle-tendon interaction in the gastrocnemiii of children with spastic cerebral palsy using ultrasound imaging.


    The stipend is £17,000 pa per student. Students must be nationals of the European Union.
