JOB PROFILE – SR. SAS PROGRAMMER

Scope of the Job
This position is located at corporate headquarters in Rochester, NY and reports to the Manager, Statistics and Data Management. Within the Global Statistics group, your primary role will be to develop SAS programs for reporting clinical trial results. As a lead SAS programmer, you will be responsible for the development and production of tables and listings for statistical and clinical report writing. You will create/modify SAS programs to carry out the analytic plan; execute (or oversee execution of) the analytic plans for research studies and assess the feasibility of the analytic plan as well as the timeline. You will investigate issues with the data and report findings back to the team. You will serve as lead analyst on large studies that require more than one analyst to complete the work; document steps taken and validate/crosscheck results, and draft and review methods section of reports. Finally, you will serve as a technical resource to other analysts; present new programs/techniques and output methods, mentor new analysts, and assist in the development and documentation of standard table output methods, procedures, and programs.
Candidate Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
2. A minimum of four years of experience in SAS programming with knowledge of and experience in clinical trials. Proficiency in Base SAS and SAS reporting modules, experience with SAS macros and SAS STAT/GRAPH also desirable.
