The University of Connecticut Athletic Training Education Program is pleased to announce the opening a doctoral-level graduate assistant athletic training position. The graduate assistant position is located on-campus and includes research, teaching and administrative opportunities. The graduate assistant will assist with research projects in the Human Performance Laboratory focused on youth sport lower extremity injury prevention.

The position begins in early August 2011 and includes a full waiver of in-state and out-of-state tuition, medical and dental benefits, and a stipend. The graduate assistant will complete the doctoral program in Exercise Science through the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Connecticut, which is a nationally recognized program. The doctoral program is research-intensive and requires a four-year plan of study.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Entry-level Master’s degree from an accredited athletic training education program
• Master’s degree in exercise physiology/biomechanics/athletic training
• Research experience (completed thesis minimum)
• 2 years experience as a clinical athletic trainer
• GRE math/verbal of 1,200 or greater (scores above 1,100 will be considered initially if you are willing to take test again)
• Preferable: teaching and accreditation experience
• Interest in youth sport injury prevention/ACL injury prevention programs/clinical biomechanics of the lower extremity
