    SIMULIA, the Dassault Systèmes brand for Realistic Simulation, has an immediate opening for a Biomechanics Applications Specialist at the Providence, Rhode Island headquarters. This is an excellent opportunity for mechanical engineers with a biomedical focus to leverage their background in a challenging technical position.

    As a member of the Lifesciences Technical Marketing team you will be responsible for executing application projects in the area of realistic human simulation. These projects may include working in areas such as material or tissue modeling, musculo-skeletal modeling, and interface scripting. In this role you will have the opportunity to excel in a highly technically oriented team that includes Marketing, R&D and field organizations, industry and software partners, as well as our commercial and research customers.

    Candidates should have experience in the field(s) of computational biomechanics, tissue mechanics, musculo-skeletal modeling tools, or other numerical human simulation tools and must demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of engineering mechanics in nonlinear finite element modeling (Abaqus or other nonlinear FE software). Experience in writing user subroutines (material modeling) and python scripting, practical knowledge of medical imaging software such as Amira, Mimics or scanFE, or other technical computing tools like Matlab will be a plus. Hands-on experience in experimental techniques such as motion capture or tissue characterization is not required but the candidate is expected to be familiar with such methods.

    The ideal candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to demonstrate problem solving skills illustrating the ability to create engineering solutions to solve customer challenges. Should be self-motivated, team oriented, proactive and objective-driven. Candidate must also be willing to travel (both domestic and international).

    Qualified candidates will have a PhD or Masters degree.
