As our NSRL Researcher I, you'll participate in the execution of the sport science research division research agendas, implement new procedures and methods to improve efficiency and perform product performance research aimed at increasing understanding of customers’ needs and activity requirements to develop technologically innovative footwear and equipment products that are globally relevant. You'll also serve as a full time member of the Footwear-Equipment Product Creation Process, interacting with Senior Researchers and Product Analysts in all phases of research to provide a holistic evaluation of products. You’ll participate in the development of new tools, methods and procedures and streamline data acquisition. You'll become the resident expert for Footwear-Equipment related research tools used by the Nike Sport Research Lab staff. In addition, you'll give lab tours, demonstrate Nike’s commitment to product performance research through presentations at scientific meetings, clinics and conferences and publications in scientific journals.
Requirements for the position include:
• Master’s degree in Biomechanics or a related field, including Human Factors, Engineering, or Ergonomics
• 3 years' related work experience
• Must possess a thorough understanding or anatomy, biomechanical principles, experimental designs and statistical procedures
• Demonstrated understanding of injury mechanisms and sporting performance
• Exposure to industrial research and management experience preferred
• Experience with the tools used to collect biomechanical and ergonomics data
• Knowledge of footwear and equipment product creation processes is a plus
• Up to 10% travel
