The Landon Center on Aging and the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Kansas Medical Center invite applications for a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Applicants must have a PhD, and a background in gait and/or balance from fields such as physical/occupational therapy, audiology/vestibular physiology, biomechanics, engineering, kinesiology, exercise physiology, neuroscience or other appropriate fields. The successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain an active research program, obtain external funding, and mentor PhD students. Generous laboratory space and equipment are available in the Human Performance Laboratory at the Landon Center on Aging, where the successful candidate will play a leadership role. While the successful candidate is anticipated to have their academic appointment in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, a secondary appointment in another appropriate department is possible, such as Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Therapy Education, Exercise Science, Molecular and Integrative Physiology, Audiology, or Orthopedic Surgery.
The Landon Center on Aging is an interdisciplinary center that conducts, sponsors and supports the development of educational, clinical, and research programs related to aging.
