Postdoctoral Research Associate Position at the University of Pittsburgh
We are looking for an engineering postdoctoral research associate to join our labs dedicated to studying musculoskeletal biomechanics. We combine in vivo, in vitro, and in silico (computer modeling) approaches in our research. The postdoctoral associate will be involved in the integration of all three approaches. Experience with biomechanical modeling (dynamic simulation and FEM) is essential, but an applicant should also be comfortable with human subject and cadaveric specimen testing. Extensive resources are available for in vitro biomechanical testing, in vivo joint function (including high-speed dynamic stereo-radiography), and computer modeling. This person will also assist in writing research grants and manuscripts, preparing research presentations, coordinating projects and supervising students. We expect this person to be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, excellent verbal and written communication skills. We provide great opportunities and a very collegial, nurturing environment to work collaboratively with a team of scientists, clinicians, research fellows, students, orthopaedic fellows and residents. Individuals who aspire to pursue a career in academia are particularly encouraged to apply.
The applicant should have a PhD in mechanical engineering, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline. The position is for a minimum of two years, with renewal dependent on performance and continued availability of funding. Salary is commensurate with credentials.
Interested individuals please send CV (including contact information for 3 references), cover letter, and sample publications or write-ups to Dr. Xudong Zhang, either via e-mail (orls.pitt@gmail.com), or regular mail to the following address:
