The Department of Computing and Technology operates on both our Cambridge and Chelmsford campuses. The Department offers a wide range of pathways related to Design and Engineering, Technology, Computer Science. We maintain close links with the mechanical engineering, electronics, software, automotive and creative industries and our pathways offer excellent employment prospects for our graduates. The department has a strong research base, with 6 research groups and over 30 registered research students.

We are seeking candidates with academic and/or industrial experience in the Materials Science area of Mechanical Engineering, and desirably in Manufacturing Processes.
You will be responsible for delivering an up-to-date curriculum and it is expected that you will contribute to the expansion of our portfolio. With a PhD, or nearing completion, you will be research active or ready to undertake research. It is anticipated that you will develop collaboration and consultancy work with industry, in order to generate external funding. You may also be asked to supervise research students.
