Vector Scientific, Inc. (VSI) has an immediate opening in their Denver area office (Golden, Colorado) for a biomechanical engineer to conduct impact injury biomechanics analyses in automotive, sport/recreation, industrial/occupational, and premise accidents.
Qualifications:
Minimum of Master of Science in Biomechanical/Biomedical Engineering or closely related science. The ideal candidate will possess research experience in musculoskeletal injury biomechanics and/or automotive safety.
Skills:
Must be able to work independently and take initiative on researching technical topics; must also be able to work collaboratively with colleagues in related specialties (e.g. vehicle dynamics engineers, other biomechanical engineers); must posses strong verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate technical concepts typically to non-technical audiences.
Methods/Techniques:
Methods involve medical record reviews, research literature reviews, evaluation and determination of injury mechanisms, assessment of use and effectiveness of safety/protective devices (e.g. seat belts), field data statistical analyses (e.g. NASS), inspections of physical evidence, physical testing, possible modeling/simulation techniques when appropriate (e.g. MADYMO, FEA).
