The Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion within the College of Education at the University of Kentucky is seeking candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Exercise Science (Biomechanics or Exercise Physiology), effective August 15, 2011. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Application reviews will begin May 15, 2011 and continue until position is filled.
Responsibilities: Pursue excellence in teaching, research and service. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses; advise masters and doctoral students in the exercise science program; provide support for undergraduate exercise science, health education and physical education programs; support school and community partnerships, and secure extramural funding. Potential teaching areas include but are not limited to graduate-level research methods, undergraduate tests and measurements, and specific courses in either biomechanics or exercise physiology.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate in biomechanics or exercise physiology or appropriate specialization. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in a post-doctoral appointment, and in college teaching, advising, research, grant writing, and professional service.
