This role is one of 13 new post doctoral research positions being funded by a five year EPSRC programme grant in biotribology of articular cartilage and its substitution.
As PDRF you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of bioengineers, biologists, physicists, clinicians and medical physicists to undertake academic research in the field of biotribology of articular cartilage and its substitutions focusing specifically on the patellar femoral joint.
The aim of this project is to develop, evaluate and apply an experimental simulation model for the natural patellar femoral joint and to investigate its biotribology and biomechanical function.
You will have or expect to obtain shortly a PhD in biotribology biomechanics, bioengineering or a related subject. You will also have experience of project management and working both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is a willingness to work flexibly.
University Grade 7 (£29,972 - £35,788 p.a.)
