    As our Advanced Test Engineer, you'll perform scientific and technological investigation directed toward the acquisition of new knowledge. This research encompasses such endeavors as enlarging and systematizing the organizations knowledge base; understanding the limitations of technology and how to apply its capabilities; developing proof-of-concept prototypes; devising methods and tools for modeling, analyzing and developing products and services. You'll work with various customer groups to include design and innovation through production, to define, develop, and implement procedures for testing new products and developing technologies. You'll act as internal consultant providing technical guidance on complex projects. You'll develop customized testing specifications and ensure testing procedures are in compliance with internal and external standards. You'll evaluate and select equipment to purchase or design new equipment as appropriate. You'll plan and conduct experimental data collection trials as well as analyze and conduct confirmation testing. You'll document equipment design and operating protocol defining procedures for all phases of testing. You'll complete testing or instruct Test Technicians on test protocol and documentation. In addition, you'll review, analyze, documents, and communicate results.

    Requirements for the position include:
    • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, materials science, biomechanics, or related field, and 5 years' directly related work experience
    • One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 3 years; Masters + 4 years; Associates degree + 6 years; High School + 7 years
    • Experience with Product or materials testing, experimental design, and statistical analysis of data
    • Experience leading small teams
    • Strong written and oral communication skills in English. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audience. Strong presentation skills are desired
    • Experience with some instrumentation equipment (volt meter, oscilloscope, A/D boards, pressure sensors, potentiometers, etc.)
    • Experience in use of PC based spreadsheets and word processing programs (preferably Word & Excel for Windows)
    • Experience with statistical analysis software, LabView, and AutoCad or other CAD/CAM software desired
    • Experience with footwear or sports equipment testing and/or production desired. Basic knowledge of biomechanics would be a plus
