The School of Physical Therapy at The University of Montana is actively recruiting for a Research Assistant staff position. Screening of applicatns will begin on Thursday, August 25, 2011, but applications received after 8/25/2011 may be considered. The position is currently posted as part time (0.49 FTE) for a calendar year. The preferred candidate would have experience with our laboratory software including Vicon Nexus, Visual 3D, Matlab, and Labview as well as past experience with data collections for life sciences research with human subjects.
The Research Assistant will provide program support for the scholarly mission of the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science and fulfill the entry-level role of administration, instruction, scholarship/research and consultation. Duties include, but are not limited to: assisting in the orientation and training of new laboratory staff and personnel related to usual laboratory operations; scheduling and coordinating laboratory data collections; screening potential research subjects for inclusion and exclusion criteria for studies; tracking follow-up appointments for research subjects; completing laboratory data collections with human subjects; processing data and data entry; ordering and organizing laboratory supplies; assisting with the development and distribution of marketing materials like flyers; completing checklist screening duties and phone call follow-ups for research participants; researching participant recruiting and outreach; preparing reports and documentation for record keeping and assisting with the maintenance of the lab facility; debugging and troubleshooting minor equipment issues; and providing overall scholarly program administration support.
