Dallas, TX - Movement Science Lab - Biomechanist
Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) is accepting applications for a full-time Biomechanist in the Movement Science Laboratory (MSL). The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of patient testing, including assisting with data collection, range of motion measurements, instrumented gait analysis, strength assessments and metabolic evaluations. Primary responsibilities will also include processing and reducing data, recruiting subjects for ongoing studies, and delivering high quality, valid data to principal investigators, physicians, fellows and senior Movement Science Lab staff.
Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in human movement, excellent organizational skills, a background in research and Vicon motion capture experience. Software expertise with Vicon Nexus, Vicon Polygon and Microsoft Office are a plus. Experience working with children is also favorable. A Bachelor’s degree in the exercise science, kinesiology or biomechanics is required. A Master’s degree, with research experience is preferred.
The Movement Science Lab currently has over a dozen active research protocols, as well as providing a clinical service to our staff orthopedists. The laboratory is equipped with a 12 camera VICON motion capture system, 5 AMTI force platforms, a Novel EMED platform, Cosmed K4b2 O2 system, Biodex System for strength testing, and a 10 channel Motion Lab Systems EMG system.
