Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) has an immediate full-time opening for a Biomechanist in the Motion Analysis Lab. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of patient testing, including instrumented gait analysis, pedobarographic assessment, strength measurement and metabolic evaluations. Primary responsibilities will also include data processing and reporting, hardware and software troubleshooting, and participating in routine clinical and research meetings with physicians, research investigators, and senior Motion Analysis Lab staff.
A Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering, kinesiology, physical therapy or exercise science with strong background in biomechanics is required. A Master of Science degree in biomedical engineering or kinesiology with strong background in biomechanics is preferred. Experience working with children with neuromuscular disabilities and the treatment approaches available for these patients is also preferred.
The CCHMC Motion Analysis Lab is equipped with a 12 camera Motion Analysis Corporation Raptor4 system, 4 AMTI force platforms, a Novel EMED platform, a Cosmed k4b2 energy cost system, a Biodex System 4 dynamometer for strength testing, and a 16-channel Delsys Trigno EMG system.
