The Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow position to begin January 1, 2012. The position will be awarded for two years, subject to review after one year, and is contingent upon funding.
The postdoctoral fellow will work on an NSF funded project (Jesse W. Young, PI) to investigate the biomechanical strategies quadrupedal primates employ to maintain arboreal stability. Primary responsibilities will include collecting kinematic, kinetic and morphometric data on live animals, overseeing their housing and care, and collaborating on data analysis and publication. Preference will be given to candidates with previous training and experience in primate/mammalian anatomy and locomotor biomechanics, including working knowledge of 3D motion analysis and force transducer equipment. The position also includes opportunities for the development of independent research projects.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. by the time of appointment. The salary is $38,496 per year (12 months) plus benefits.
