The Division of Physical Therapy invites applications for a nine-month faculty position (tenure track or non-tenure track) in the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) curriculum, with options for summer funding, if desired and available.

Responsibilities include teaching, scholarly activity, service, advising, and clinical practice. Professional accomplishments demonstrating creativity and energy, self-direction, ability to represent the College professionally and effectively to other units of the University and to external constituencies, and the ability to work collaboratively with a highly motivated team are important attributes of the successful candidate. The expertise in teaching will focus on one of the following areas: cardio-pulmonary, acute care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and wound care.
Applicant must hold or be eligible for a license to practice physical therapy in the state of Georgia. A doctoral-level research degree (e.g.,PhD, DSc, EdD) is required for tenure-track position and a professional doctoral-level degree (DPT, t-DPT) is required for non-tenure track position. Applicants with prior academic experience, evidence of excellent teaching effectiveness and the ability to teach doctoral-level coursework is desired. Applicants should have the ability to work collaboratively with students and colleagues within the program and College and across the colleges and schools of the University. Applicants should have potential for success in research and publishing, and experience in advising and supervising students, preferably with experience at the doctoral level.

Appointment date is January 1, 2012. Position is open until filled. Review of applications will begin October 2011.
Located in the heart of Atlanta and within the largest urban university in Georgia, the Division of Physical Therapy has established meaningful partnerships with numerous institutions, healthcare facilities, and community agencies in the Atlanta metropolitan area. There is opportunity to perform collaborative research within the University and community.
