    Program Director, Entry Level Master’s Degree Program in Athletic Training

    POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor, full-time tenure-track position in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join the existing faculty and assume the responsibilities of Program Director of the CAATE Accredited Entry Level Master’s Degree Program in Athletic Training (MSAT). Additional responsibilities include teaching and advising primarily in the athletic training curriculum, and mentoring masters and doctoral student research in area(s) of expertise. Scholarly activities and service expectations typical of tenure-track university faculty and consistent with rank are required.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Earned doctorate in a field related to athletic training/sports medicine, curriculum and instruction, or biomechanics / motor control.
    • Must be BOC certified and eligible for NC state licensure.
    • Minimum of three years of clinical athletic training experience preferred.
    • Prior leadership experience in the direction or clinical coordination of an accredited athletic training education program highly desirable.
    • Record of a clear scholarly focus, with the potential to attract external funding.
    • Evidence of quality teaching and the ability to effectively mentor graduate students.

    GENERAL INFORMATION: Founded in 1891, UNCG is one of the three original campuses comprising The University of North Carolina system (now 17 campuses). UNCG is classified as a research university with high research activity (Carnegie classification) and in the community engagement classification under Curricular Engagement and Outreach and Partnerships. The University is an urban doctoral granting institution with an enrollment of 17,397 students, including over 3000 graduate students from approximately 38 states and over 20 countries. UNCG currently offers 26 doctoral and over 60 master’s programs, including several nationally ranked programs. The Department of Kinesiology with 22 full-time faculty is one of 7 departments in the new School of Health and Human Services. The department is located in a modern facility with extensive classroom, laboratory, and gymnasia space, and offers B.S. M.S., M.Ed., M.S.A.T., Ph.D. and Ed.D. degrees.

    SALARY: Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
