The Kinesiology Department at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is searching to fill an open tenure track position.
Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities will be undergraduate classes in kinesiology including courses in the exercise and fitness and/or strength and conditioning emphases. Advising students, committee membership and contributing to the profession through published research and other scholarly activity are expected.
Requirements: A doctorate in the field of Exercise Science or related field is required. The successful candidate will have experience teaching in kinesiology and the potential for establishing a record of professional and scholarly activity. Competence is required in the following areas: teaching orientation to kinesiology, fitness assessment techniques, leadership in adult fitness assessment techniques, leadership in adult fitness, and strength training techniques. Additional teaching responsibilities may include behavioral aspects of kinesiology, physiology of exercise, clinical experience in adult fitness, performance assessment in kinesiology, and research techniques. Certification through the ACSM (HFS) or the NSCA (CSCS) is required.
Preferences: The department has a newly established kinesiology major with emphases in exercise & fitness and strength & conditioning. While expertise in one of the emphasis areas is required, an individual with expertise in both areas is preferred.
Starting Date: September 1, 2012
Terms of Appointment: Tenure track, full-time faculty
