The Faculty of Applied Sciences at Simon Fraser University invites applications and nominations for a British Columbia Leadership Research Chair in Multimedia Applications for Healthcare Innovation. This is a tenured full professor position in the School of Computing Science or School of Engineering Science.
The position is to be funded by a multi-million dollar endowment provided by the British Columbia Provincial Government and a donor. We are interested in candidates who have established an international reputation in medical technology research and training and demonstrated strong ability to attract research support from external agencies and community. A strong commitment to graduate teaching and supervision is expected. A Ph.D. in Computing Science, Engineering or a closely related field is required. Candidates with an outstanding research record in medical imaging, remote monitoring of patients, digital pathology, assistive technology or collaborative/virtual technology for healthcare are preferred. The position is expected to develop collaboration with a major hospital and a regional health authority.
